The Yorkshire novice sabre competition is for the first year in the EISS (home of the SSC) and it's comfortable surroundings offered us all a great day's fencing. There were 12 entrants, which included fences of both sexes and quite a range of ages. The format of the competition was two rounds of small poules and then the DE.
