Sheffield Sword Club - Coaching
James Giving a Sabre Lesson

There are a number of coaching resources at the club, James Williams is the principal coach at the Sword Club, and runs the warm up and footwork sessions on Thursdays as well as giving some lessons to individuals. Pete can also give you a lesson, but mainly focuses on the kids. On Mondays although there are a number of coaches, their main focus is on the beginer classes that we run, so training is currently focused on fencing bouts, however you may be able to get a lesson from Bill, or from on of the coaches who are developing their coaching skills with Bill from around 8:30pm.

James is currently the GB team's strength and conditioning coach, as well as being the British athletes representative to the FIE the international governing body of fencing. He has competed at 3 Olympics (1992, 1996, 2000) in 2000 he got to the quarter finals, and this result is the best performance in men's sabre since 1956.
